An illustrated talk about the different role that architectural ornament has played in buildings over the ages, from ancient Egyptian temples to Rockefeller Center. Inspired by Rybczynski’s latest book, The Story of Architecture.

Witold Rybczynski is an architect and writer. He is the author of 22 books and numerous articles. He has been architecture critic for Wigwag and Slate, and was awarded the Vincent Scully Prize, the Cooper-Hewitt’s National Design Award, and the Anthony J. Lukas Book Prize. He is the Martin and Margy Meyerson Professor of Urbanism Emerotus at the University of Pennsylvania.
