September Full Moon Book Talk: Framing First Contact

Conversation this month will center Euro-centric perspectives and the boundaries of ‘truth.’

The first book talk of the autumn season picks up where we left off at the end of winter (2021) with a conversation on the so-called ‘Age of Discovery.’ Art, in a way, has shaped everything that we think we know about our culture, our communities and even ourselves; but at what cost?

Our author, Kate Elliott, is an art historian looking at ‘our nations historical and visual record’ to gain some deeper understanding of the cultural cost. This read allows for us to see ourselves differently. Conversation this month will center Euro-centric perspectives and the boundaries of ‘truth.’
